It’s been eight months since Tamar Braxton‘s suicide attempt and it turns out that her therapy sessions ever since, have managed to completely change her life! The star chatted with HollywoodLife and opened up about it so check out what she had to say!
Fans know that Tamar went through a really dark time that led to her trying to end her life back in July of last year.
However, she has thankfully come a long way since and she told the news outlet about her progress.
While also promoting her new podcast, Under Construction, she shared that ‘It’s been a lot of therapy and it has been a lot of self reflection. I had to have many uncomfortable conversations with myself and with other people about myself to want to be a better self.’
One of the most important things that she’s learned is that she had been burying her childhood abuse trauma and that has caused many of her struggles as an adult.
‘There are things that I was not ready to deal with. These are things I was definitely acting out on in my life. I can say proudly that I was a different person from last year to this year. Although it has been a short period of time and still have a lot of work ahead of me, there’s a lot of work I have done that’s behind me. Before, I’d keep going because I did not want to disappoint people and I did not want people to go, ‘She’s being difficult. I always felt over committed and never committed to myself. When I wasn’t feeling great, I still did it.’
However, nowadays, things really have to mean something to Tamar and she is able to forgive herself for all the guilt that others had put on her.

In other words, if she feels like she’s too down to do something, she just doesn’t do it now.
