Richie Supa (born Richard Goodman in Massapequa Park, New York) is an American composer and guitarist best known for his work with Aerosmith (where he was the band’s first rhythm guitarist and a regular collaborator) and Richie Sambora, with whom he has collaborated on a number of occasions. A number of albums were issued under Richard Supa’s own name, including “Supa’s Jamboree” (1971, Paramount 6009), “Homespun” (1972, Paramount PAS 6027), “Lifelines” (1976, Epic PE34277), and “Tall Tales” (1979, Epic PE34277) (1978, Polydor PD-1-6155). Johnnie Winter covered Richard’s song “Stone County Wanted Man,” which originally featured on the “Supa’s Jamboree” album. The song was later released as a single on the “Saints and Sinners” album. His friendship with Aerosmith dates back to the 1980s. He has made a number of musical contributions to the band and has also provided emotional support. When Joe Perry quit the band in 1979, he was brought in to fill in until a permanent replacement could be found. Aside from that, he collaborated on a number of songs, including the successes “Chip Away the Stone” (1978), “Lightning Strikes” (1982), “Amazing” (1993), and “Pink” (1997), amongst others. Supa was a co-writer on the majority of the songs on Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora’s second solo album Undiscovered Soul, which was released in 2008. Aside from that, he co-wrote the song “Misery” for Pink’s album Missundaztood, on which Aerosmith vocalist Steven Tyler appears, and he worked with Mika on the song “My Interpretation,” which appears on Mika’s first album Life in Cartoon Motion.
