Fred Willard Tweets Response to Lewd Conduct Arrest: Lousy Film

Following days of public speculation after Christopher Guest mainstay Fred Willard was arrested for lewd conduct in a Los Angeles adult movie theater, the comedian and actor responded publicly about the circumstances of the incident. Tweeting Monday from his personal account, Willard offered a thumbnail review of the unspecified film he was watching and promised to set the record straight on what actually happened.

“Wait til u hear my version; much more PG. & my review, lousy film, but theater would make a terrific racquetball court. Full story 2 follow.”

Following his arrest, Willard denied any wrongdoing. When confronted by TMZ en route to his attorney’s office, he said, “It did not happen.” Nevertheless, PBS terminated his employment as the host of the network’s Market Warriors. Willard followed up his tweet about the incident with a note of support for the other show he hosts, Trust Us With Your Life.

“I was not fired from TUWYL so B sure 2 watch Trust Us Wtih your life Tues, ABC 9,” he tweeted.

In addition to his work with Guest in the films Best in Show and A Mighty Wind, Willard is a well-known supporting performer in such films as Anchorman and American Wedding.
